- July 29, 2026: An Introduction to Intermediate Teaching and Learning & Assessing the Intermediate Student (Modules 1 and 2)
- August 5, 2026: Lesson Planning for the Intermediate Student (Module 3)
- August 12, 2026: Technique & Musicianship I (Module 4 and 5)
Each sixty-minute session in The Intermediate Course will explore essential aspects of teaching intermediate students while providing a collaborative space to share ideas and experiences. Participants will develop practical strategies that can be immediately applied in the studio to support technical growth, musical understanding, and student independence.
In the first session, An Introduction to Intermediate Teaching and Learning and Assessing the Intermediate Student, we’ll examine the unique needs of intermediate learners and discuss effective assessment strategies that guide student progress and goal setting. The second session, Lesson Planning for the Intermediate Student, will focus on structuring engaging and purposeful lessons that balance technical development, repertoire, and musicianship. The final session, Technique and Musicianship I, will explore approaches to developing healthy technique alongside foundational musicianship skills that deepen students’ musical understanding and artistry.
