NCKP 2025: Summit FAQs
The NCKP 2025 Innovation Summit will empower participants to envision the future of piano education through creative and collaborative activities that elevate the role of piano educators in society and advocate for every individual’s right to create music. With keynotes, group discussions, and reflective exercises, attendees will explore how piano teaching can adapt and flourish in an ever-evolving world.
All teachers and pianists who are passionate about creating a sustainable future for piano education are invited to attend. Register for the conference and summit here.
The Summit will kick off with a keynote speaker who will frame our work for the day. Keynote and guest speakers can be viewed here.
The Summit is designed to be a collaborative day for participants, who will be working individually and in small and large groups to reflect on and vision an innovative future for piano education. Through a series of activities guided by facilitators and discussion leaders, participants will define the priorities for our profession and create actionable steps for a sustainable future.
The Summit will take place on Wednesday, July 23rd from 9:00 am – 5:00 pm at the Westin Hotel Chicago Lombard. This event is the first day of The Piano Conference: NCKP 2025.
The Summit takes place on Wednesday, July 23, 2025. Registration will begin at 8:00 am Central with the programming beginning at 9:00 am. The day will conclude at approximately 5:00 pm. Participants in the Summit should arrive on Tuesday, July 22, 2025.
Attendees will be provided with a Summit handbook and other writing materials for the day. Attendees may wish to bring a water bottle. Coffee and water will be available throughout the day.
Attendees select their desired track for participation during conference registration: Higher Education, Teaching Professionals, and New Professionals. While participants will be at mixed tables, the afternoon sessions will allow each track to move to their own room to focus on the specific needs of those participants.

The Summit is included in your full conference registration. If registering only for the Summit, the registration fee is $199.
The Summit will consist of a series of highly facilitated activities. If you are interested in being a table discussion leader, please contact Andrea McAlister at amcalister@francesclarkcenter.org.
Yes! If you already registered for the conference and did not select Summit attendance in your registration, you can still attend. Please fill out this form and let us know that you are coming. We can’t wait to see you there!
