NCKP 2023: The Piano Conference

Share. Engage. Inspire.

Call for Performance Participation

As part of the twenty-five-year anniversary celebration, the NCKP 2023 program will include an inspiring main stage concert highlighting multiple performers from the community. NCKP 2023 invites performance submissions from educators, performers, emerging professionals, students, and those from independent studios, community music schools, colleges, and universities.

Ideal concert selections will bring awareness to expanding the piano repertoire with music by underrepresented composers and pieces that are lesser known. Repertoire can include solo piano, piano duet (four hand), piano duo (two piano), chamber music with piano, and piano with technology. The musical style can range from classical, jazz, world music, fusion, to others. Whole works or movement(s) can be submitted, with a time limit of eight (8) minutes.

Performance Submission Requirements

  • Complete programming information, including title, movement title or tempo marking, catalog/opus number, composer, composer dates, and instrumentation.
  • Program notes with relevant information for the audience (maximum 75 words).
  • Total performance duration (maximum 8 minutes).
  • A video performance of the proposed repertoire by the submitting performer(s), provided as a link to a video on YouTube or Google Drive. Please ensure the file is viewable to anyone with the link.
  • Exact name and short bio (35-50 words) of performer(s) as would appear in the program.
  • List of current positions and institutional affiliations of performer(s), if applicable.
  • Digital photo(s) of performer(s) suitable for the program. Color headshot of each performer preferred; 300dpi.

The deadline to submit performances is Monday, April 10, 2023, at 11:59PM PDT.
